Always a friend first – so much so that many of her high school friends guessed she would never find time to study in college. Kristine Merta managed not only to find that time, but to use it well. So well, in fact, that she went on to law school and now lectures on estate tax planning topics. Today, life outside of Kristine's tax planning work for clients and students centers around the most prominent among those old high school friends – her now-husband Cliff – and their active triplets. She also thrives on frequent gatherings of extended family (often at the family cabin, with beloved dogs and horses) and, not surprisingly, entertaining friends (old and new). A friend first and forever, it appears.
