Eric Svien is another one of Lowry Hill's star basketball players. And playing "hoops" appeals to him in the same that way trading does – "Both are games where you cannot show your hand, and where each time down the court presents a different challenge." A fine guard for the Cannon Falls Bombers, Eric was raised by his aunt and uncle – cash crop and soy bean farmers – after Eric's parents passed away. Among other gifts, his parents left him with a mutual fund that began his fascination with investing. "The investment has done well," he says modestly; it's recently allowed him the leisure to sail the Bermuda Triangle. "And given the challenges I faced early on, I have too."
