Sara B. VanderLugt

All flowers blossom at different times, and Sara Vander Lugt is a self-described "late bloomer." In 10 years time – beginning in her early thirties – she started and graduated from college, (with honors), moved from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, to Minneapolis, passed the CPA exam, and met and married her husband, Stan. "Starting late also means I gained experience and the chance to discover exactly what I want to do." Does that include hobbies? It used to; for years, she loved crafts, especially scrap booking. But today, our beaming bloomer points to a photo of her daughters, Isabella and Abigail, the two littlest buds in her life. "Right now, they're the only hobby I could want."

Previous experience: senior accountant, Virchow, Krause & Company, LLP; staff accountant, Wipfli Ulrich Bertelson LLP. Education: certified public accountant (CPA), Lakeland College (B.A.). Professional organizations: member, Minnesota Society of CPAs.
