Keith W. Baum

Keith W. Baum

Investment Principal

Japanese Jazz – Is that like "Rangoon Ragtime" or "Bangkok Bebop," you wonder? Not at all, according to Keith Baum, who played in multiple jazz groups during his 17 years in Japan and Hong Kong. Keith's "day job" included a twelve-year stint with one of the world's most respected investment banks, preceded by a position with Japan's largest sporting goods company (focused on their Olympic promotions). Back home for 10 years now, he still enjoys an occasional jam session. "I like the way various instruments mix to create a certain harmony," Keith says. "It's similar to how we work together at Lowry Hill."

Previous experience: vice president, Pivotal Private Equity; special limited partner, Valley Ventures; director, Asia Research Department, Goldman Sachs. Education: CFA Institute (CFA), Stanford Graduate School of Business (M.B.A), Kalamazoo College (B.A.). Community organizations: member of the boards of trustees, Interlochen Center for the Arts and Scottsdale Cultural Council.
